Some BT terms:

Seed - someone who has the complete show and is uploading it to you and others. Leeches become Seeds when they have finished downloading the show and they leave their client window open.
Leech - someone who doesn't have the complete show and is downloading it; sometimes also called a Peer
Leech (derogatory term) - someone who downloads the show but doesn't bother to then Seed the shows so others can get it
Peer - someone who doesn't have the complete show and is downloading it; sometimes also called a Leech
Swarm - a term used to talk about all the Seeds and Leechers on a particular torrent
Torrent - the file you download and start in your bittorrent client that enables you to download a show
Tracker - the website software that keeps track of the seeds and leechers for a particular torrent
Open a Window/Reseed - when there are no seeds for a show and you want to download it, you ask someone to Open a Window (start the show again in their bittorrent client) or Reseed the show (the show is still on the tracker, ie. the thread is *not* in the Inactive BitTorrent forum)
Reseed Request - when a torrent is no longer available for download from the tracker (the torrent is in the Inactive BitTorrent forum) and you want someone who has already downloaded the show to put it back on the tracker and make it available for download again, you start a new thread and should put Reseed Request in the title.
Downloading - receiving the files from others connected to the torrent
Uploading - sending the files with others connected to the torrent
Share Ratio - a ratio of your amount uploaded divided by your amount downloaded. You should try to keep this at 1 or above (meaning you are sharing as much as you received).
Super Seed - a method of seeding a show faster. Very short explanation - it makes sure the Seeder uploads more data to those that are more willing to share the data. This is a method that should only be used when you are the only seeder for a show.
Firewalled - when you haven't forwarded your ports, you will be unable to initiate a connection with others (nor can other firewalled peers initiate a connection with you) and therefore reduce the amount of people you may connect to (and therefore get slower speeds)
Port Forwarding - poking a hole in your firewall to enable you to initiate a connection with others
