Sometimes you have no choice. I record a lot from German DAB, and imo quality of these recordings is much better than FM, such also looks any spectral analysis. In all cases FM cuts high frequencies below DAB.
Not sure if the FM is really sourced from not compressed files. I'd not be surprised if it goes like this wav > MP2 / AC3 > FM, the same like for DAB.
