Should NTSC Blu-ray be called HD?
At the risk of seeming ungrateful, I'd like to ask if a video that is 4:3, 25.0 Mbs, 720x480, and 29.97 fps (NTSC) and authored to Blu-ray be called "HD"? My knee-jerk reaction would be to say thanks for authoring but please call it SD. Is there something I'm missing? Some reason to be glad for the extra bandwidth as opposed to DVD? Thanks.

Re: Should NTSC Blu-ray be called HD?
The only difference, and I suppose reason to get the massive BluRay file may be the additional audio tracks if that appeals to you. I personally prefer the standard VIDEO_TS dvds. I download the BluRay files, but that's because I'm way strung out on downloading. I never watch a Grateful Dead BluRay, but prefer dvds on my system.

Re: Should NTSC Blu-ray be called HD?
Thanks, that does make sense as there were 4 audio tracks per disc. Since I'm still using 1900's stereo equipment, I may ditch the 2 multi-channel audio sources and try to author a 2 track dvd for my own use, rather than invest in a Blu-ray burner or keep these huge files on SSD. My mistake for jumping on something juicy without studying the specs, thought an HD video would a good reason to upgrade the system.

Re: Should NTSC Blu-ray be called HD?
What fun is that? That dvd doesn't have the matrix, mine does. The only thing I failed to read is the 720x480, and I've learned not to mention it. Now to enjoy some lemonade.
