Downloads.Com?

A friend of mine has just returned to access to computing.
He used to access a good site for unsigned bands from "downloads.com" sub menu "music", which had a wide range of free downloads.
Anyone any idea what happened to it?

if i'm thinkin of the same site, it was owned by CNET which probly shut it down when they took over Last.fm


epitonic.com was another great site for finding new indie/unsigned bands...dunno if they're still up n running or not

Many thanks for the pointer. "epitonic.com" is still working as at today, so will point him at it.
Any other suggestions would be welcome
