Torrent won't move out of 'queued' status
I am using Vuze 5.6.2.0 on a Macbook Pro that is running Yosemite 10.10.5.
The torrent file has downloaded with no problems (I believe), but it won't upload and the status remains queued. There is only one file and the download is totally complete. Under Preferences/Queue it says Max simultaneous downloads=1 and Max active torrents =2 Seeds=4, Peers=0 My profile at tradersden.org does not show "firewalled' So far the only forum posts I've been able to find online that have a successful resolution say to use an older version of the Vuze software. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you No members have liked this post.

Re: Torrent won't move out of 'queued' status
maybe change your preferences to be able to upload / download more than one torrent at a time???
Are you seeding / leeching anything else from anyone anywhere else?

Re: Torrent won't move out of 'queued' status
Thank you for responding and offering suggestions.
I've changed preferences to Max simultaneous downloads=4 and Max active torrents =6. The status is still "queued". I am not seeding or leeching anything else..... wanted to get this one working before taking on another. I tried (temporarily) disabling the firewall on my Mac, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. I also tried to "force" it to upload, but then it went down to 0 seeds. Reading the FAQ it sounds like the upload should automatically happen, but I left it open for hours after the download and it never moved out of 'queued'. No members have liked this post.

Re: Torrent won't move out of 'queued' status
Well, you have definitely downloaded at least one show. Are you sure it isn't sitting in queued because there are no leechers and you are trying to seed the show?

Re: Torrent won't move out of 'queued' status
Well that is a definite possibility.
Are you saying that I won't be able to upload until someone else needs the show? If so, how will I know? From reading the FAQ, I was under the impression that the upload would happen automatically: "It is common courtesy to make sure you upload as much data for the torrent as you downloaded. This may require you to not stop your client as soon as you complete the download, but instead to 'leave the window open' so others may continue their download from you." After the file downloaded I left it open for hours and it didn't ever upload anything. Are there more instructions? It seems I am missing something. BTW, the glossary was very helpful. Re: Torrent won't move out of 'queued' status
What show are you uploading? Can you post a link for us to take a look at?

Re: Torrent won't move out of 'queued' status
That is correct. If there are no leechers on the torrent, then that means no one is trying to get the show and so you have no one to pass on the files to. If you take a look at the torrent stats, it should tell you the number of seeders (which is what you are since you have the complete show), the number of leechers (the users who want the show), and the number of completes (total number of users that have downloaded the show).

I applaud your desire to get your stats/ratio to 1:1. The way to get there is to leave open shows you have downloaded until others complete them. Or, to upload a new show that others download.

Re: Torrent won't move out of 'queued' status
Also most fans have loads of Floyd, so there`s little demand for a well known recording! The hardest thing, to get a good ratio, is being able to determine what will be popular by the masses - whether you like it or not, and grabbing it as soon as it`s shared! A fast connection is also a Huge help in keeping an above 1:1 ratio, A Fiber Optic connection enabled me to have a reasonable ratio on all the sites I visit and use!

Re: Torrent won't move out of 'queued' status
You all have been very helpful and I think I'm beginning to understand.
What I need to do is download something that others want and let them leech off of me to get my ratio up. Then I can download the show I want? No members have liked this post.

Re: Torrent won't move out of 'queued' status
Regardless of your ratio you should still be able to download

Re: Torrent won't move out of 'queued' status
Dude, just download what you want! Although there are ratios for stuff here, there's no official enforcement. You don't get kicked out for having a bad ratio. You *might* have to endure some ribbing from other people but there's no "real" consequences...
You should leave your torrent program running, with whatever you've downloaded left in the torrent program to seed. Like, for days and weeks, even. All the time, in the background. As long as you're keeping those files available, eventually, someone's gonna come along and want them, and your torrent program will be ready and waiting for those new downloaders to grab it from you. You don't need to know that they want to grab it - it'll just start uploading to them if you're seeding... I've still got torrents seeding here that I grabbed 3 or 4 years ago! My uTorrent is ALWAYS running 24/7, and, sooner or later, another person will come along and want something. Do what I do - keep a few of your favorite torrents as pets in your torrent client! Over time, you'll get your ratio where you'll like it to be, and you won't get teased by others for having a cruddy ratio! Torrents are the patient music fan's game. A few hours won't clear your problem up. A few weeks, and you'll be golden... Just wait for it! EDIT: Okay, I'll bite - I don't have this release of that show, so I'll download. Now, where are YOU to seed it to me??? See how this is supposed to work?

My Vuze is open now (sorry about that). It is a little ironic that after all the hours I've spent trying to find this show and then additional hours trying to figure out how things work I finally listened to it and wasn't very happy with the quality. I know that it is a bootleg and can tell that especially David's playing was awesome, but the mix seems off somehow. It definitely doesn't live up to the rave reviews I've read on more than one forum. No members have liked this post.
