CD/DVD Labeling Software
Can anyone recommend a freeware to download? Need something quick and easy for a project I'm working on for a friend. Thanks.

Re: CD/DVD Labeling Software
What kind of label are you trying to make?
If your DVD burner is LightScribe capable (and you've got the right kind of media), you can get the freeware basic disc labeling utility here: http://www.lightscribe.com/ If you've got those stickers you put on the discs, the manufacturer of your stickers should have templates for you (for instance, this page has templates for Neato stickers). I hope if you've got the stickers you didn't buy the Memorex ones--their templates are useless--the printer ended up printing oval shapes as I recall. And if you've got inkjet printable discs and your printer can handle CDs, I'd like to think your printer manufacturer would offer a freeware utility to print to them. No members have liked this post.

Re: CD/DVD Labeling Software
Thanks for the info. It's been while since I've done this. Had one on my old PC but it's long gone. I've always bought the Neato stuff but haven't gotten that far yet as I want to make sure I have the software first. I don't think Lightscribe is going to work ...... I need to make inserts also. Sorry for not being more specific. Any other thoughts?

Re: CD/DVD Labeling Software
Did you ever get this sorted out?
Personally, I use a Canon Pixma with CD Printing software that came with the printer. I have a template (these can be easily downloaded from most CD replication company websites in PSD for PhotoShop or other forms as well) and make the labels in Photoshop then save as a bitmap for the CD labeller (jpeg is too low in quality). The printer exists solely to print on CD, DVD and Blu-ray, and clients say it looks a lot better than what they usually get No members have liked this post.
