Right. I have a Sony NV laptop I do most of my stuff on. Last night I was stupid enough to rip the audio jack of my headphones out of the audioport as the 2m lead hooked behind my leg. I basically wrecked the port and the audio only comes through the left headphone. I was wondering if anyone every had their audio-out replaced? If so - was it a big issue?

Have you tried if itīs really the port thatīs damaged, tried with another cable? I got this problem, hmm... often, but never got a damaged port. "Just" the connection in the plugs to the cables were damaged.

If this is the probem I rip the plug apart and resolder the wires. No members have liked this post.

the jack has maybe come loose from the board... probably can be fixed with a careful bit of soldering. maybe you should hire somebody to do it for you. I fixed headphone jacks on my old walkmans this way many times.

That's what I'm thinking Five. The laptop can probably do with an overhaul anyway. Ta!
