Fit 8GB video_ts folder onto standard DVD?

Probably a tired topic, but I couldnt find the exact answer when searching...

I download a lot of live shows in dvd format. Most are split into two discs, roughly 4GB on each. Some I have are 8GB in a single file, what is the solution(s) for getting these onto discs? Thanks (sorry if a duplicate). No members have liked this post.

DVDShrink can compress a DVD9 to a DVD5, though it does cause a loss of quality. You should try it to see if the quality loss is too much though...

There are a few programs like dvdfab gold that split it, Dvd shrink can do it, dut you lose the menus. Try videohelp.com

You could either burn it to a dual layer disc or split it into 2 dvd5 with ifoedit, tutorial here: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/ifoedit-2dvdrs.htm

The dual layers are still expensive, about $2 a disc when bought in packs, so I would recommend splitting them. Using that tutorial will allow you to keep all the menus functional on both discs. Compression is an option, but I would recommend highly against it, it will reduce the quality pretty bad in this case. No members have liked this post.
