Hooking up a Comcast HD box to a MAC
Hey Now -
I have a Comcast DVR (almost) filled to capacity - with a TON of music on there - anyone know how to hook it up to a MAC MINI - I thought the firewire would work - while my computer (under preferences) acknowledges the box is plugged in - for some reason Imovie says no device attached - has anyone had success - if so help!!!! thanks! (here we go Red Sox here we go!!!) No members have liked this post.

but after reading a few who did it this way - it sounds easier to attach a standalone DVD recorder to the DVR outputs. 2¢ No members have liked this post.

the key is "finding" the software - i guess there really is no way to get around it - i was hoping OSX had something packaged in it to do the trick - great page though - appreciate the heads up No members have liked this post.

all of the software mentioned on that page is free, or there are other program options which are free that'll replace em...the StreamClip/Quicktime mpeg2 component issue can be replaced with the freeware app mentioned at the bottom of the page:
