Ransome-Ware . . .
This is a way around the threat, boot into safe mode . . . choose networking and the run a malware and anti-virus while still in the safe mode . . . after thats finished, THEN REBOOT . . . Patience is the key . . . .

When you find out your computer has been hijacked, the screen shows some sort of ransom note and a clock showing the amount of time left that you have to pay (usually $200) . . . follow the instructions at the top of this thread and you're home free.
