Question Regarding Microsoft Word
If I wanted to placed tags such as "word", {word}, <word>, does Word have the ability to alphabetize this list letter in the document.
Example, I want to use distinguish a few key words such as <FASB>, <AICPA> and <GASB>. Will I be able to simply type the < > and have the word inside appear below in an alphabetized list automatically? Like how it is below, so I can latter add a description? Key Words <AICPA> <FASB> <GASB> I am embarrassed to admit this, but the purpose of this is to write a story, and I'm not certain on the details, I would like the ability to put placeholders to change later. Before I have to do serious writing, I find it helps to write for fun. No members have liked this post.

Re: Question Regarding Microsoft Word
If you mean to replace somthing like <FHHSJYI> with "and then Matt went to get the tampax, anyway." or something like that, then, yes.
In Word, press CTRL-H.

For instance, I might original write a story of a character with a placeholder of <characterA> I will write a biography (to help keep track of everything) of <characterA> later in the document, but when I want to finalize the character's name as <John>, is there a way for it to automatically sort itself in alphabetical order, at the same time as changing all references of <characterA> to <John> within the context of the story? Without too much work? No members have liked this post.

Re: Question Regarding Microsoft Word
CTRL-H will allow you to replace the <uniquestring> with "John" or with anything else.
I don't understand abiout the alphbetized list. You want a list of the shit you need to change? Don't think it'll do that exactly, but you could just use something like {[string]} for your variables, then search for "[{" to have it highlight all the places you've yet to plug in the final text... something you can search for that will not normally be found. Then CTRL-H to replace all instances of {[string]}

Re: Question Regarding Microsoft Word
No, the alphabetized is for the glossary if you will
1. <Who> Description 2. <That> Description 3. <This> Description So that when I change <Who> to <Zoinks>, it goes to the bottom of the list. To keep the list organized, like in a dictionary. Does that make more sense? I don't think it is possible and I'll probably have to move it manually, and with CTRL+H to replace the word within the context No members have liked this post.

Re: Question Regarding Microsoft Word
right. Do that.
A Word guru might know more, but I've not seen anything resembling that in Word in using it since 1994 or so... there are some proofreading and correction modes I have never used that might help
