Weird video anomaly
I access a remote computer at work from my home PC via Fortinet VPN and Remote Desktop. Yesterday out of the blue I started getting these graphic anomalies (always the same). They appear in any white space that don't have text or other graphics.
I've attached a photo because if you take a screenshot, they don't appear in the graphics file. I've updated all my windows updates and updated my graphics card. I have a laptop and it doesn't happen when I access using that laptop. To be clear, I only have this issue when viewing the remote desktop, not when I'm viewing my local computer. I'm guessing it's something with the video card? I'm going to buy a new computer (this one is 6 year old) if I can't figure it out. No members have liked this post.

Re: Weird video anomaly
That is weird. What OS is on the remote box? What OS is on your local box? What OS is on your laptop? Do you have an IT Admin or Tech at work?
If you are having issues with RDP on Windows 7, try this RDP update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...1-fff8e545bf63 If Windows 10, here's a search for reinstalling RDP: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=reinstall+...2windows+10%22 No members have liked this post.

Re: Weird video anomaly
The OS on all the computers remote and local are Windows 10.
Funny enough, IT reports to me. And we do have a robust team, we have a fairly complex IT infrastructure. I think CEOs like to torture CFOs with this responsibility. So I have discussed it with them and they've tried various things. I haven't had them remote into my local PC because well, it's my personal PC. If you get my drift. I purchased a cheap video card and replaced my existing video card but the problem remains. I will talk to them about reinstalling Remote Desktop. Thank you. No members have liked this post.

Re: Weird video anomaly
So, your suggestion that it might be the Remote Desktop program that is the problem led me to search in that direction. I found this post:
https://blog.rmilne.ca/2016/03/09/re...orted-display/ The cause was the bitmap cache getting corrupted. I deleted the cache and that solved the problem. This is why IT reports to me. And thanks again for the direction. No members have liked this post.
