Moving data from one computer to another.

I have a problem. I have shows on about 3 different computers. about 11gb on one that does not have a DVD burner. I have to move the files on it by march 4. It is not feasable for me to spend all day burning cd's to move the data.
Is it possible to set-up a private torrent to transfer the data. I know I couldn't use this site to do it, but I want to be able to post it somewhere without drawing attention to it, make a 5 minute trip to the destination computer and start the torrent there and have nobody else using up the bandwidth between the two computers

yeah you can do that with azureus. private tracker feature.. but it would take forever. Why not remove the hard drive from one computer and put it in the other one and copy the files to the other drive. That's what I'd do.

Thanks. I would do that except that the destination computer is a laptop. I have no way to connect the hard drive. Maybe there is a way to use the network cards?

yeah you can get a crossover cable... about 10 bucks and do the transfer. has to be a crossover cable which means the pins are flipped to work right. You also might look into a usb drive enclosure... I'm not sure how much those cost now... I'd guess about 15-20 bucks. remove hard drive put it in the enclosure and use it like an external for transfers.

you could always pick up a 4gb cf card for around 30 bucks then use a card reader to xfer the stuff, flash memory is cheap now, utilize it

i just bought a external hard drive to use for backup and for moving files between computers. they're pretty reasonable now. try looking into that perhaps...

Great place for thumbdrives (4 gig Corsair is about your best bang for the buck), external drives etc to help you move your data. You could also use an iPod/mp3 player as an external hard drive for transfer. If you don't have one. Borrow one for a day. And if you got the cash, I saw a Maxtor 1.5TB external drive for $580!! That's a great price and you wouldn't have to worry again for a looooooooong time.

I just dropped 400 on a 500gig drive (and accessories), a new 4 gig corsair thumbdrive (my 2 gig is for everything, the 4 gig will be digital photos and such) and a new Klipsch iGroove for my iPod.

Don't spend all that money on that 2TB storage when you can get 3TB for less.
