Shadow's is a really old version of Bittornado... fyi there is a certain bug with bittornado where it leaves processes running without killing them properly, even on very recent versions. I used to use that client for a long time and would notice my system getting more and more sluggish over time, eventually requiring a restart. I am using utorrent now and it works on my pc with the new passkey system and is generally great. I don't use azureus here because my beater computer I use for bt & email etc is only 350mHz (can you believe it?).

Yup, I'm finished with shadow and am digging Azureus.

Since I'm still seeing that I'm seeding to four peers, but none are showing up on TTD peer list, should I check "Private torrent - only accept peers from the tracker" ?

How about Bit Tornado recently (in the last hour or so was when I made the change here)? I don't have that client on my PC (I only have uTorrent).

Here is how to fully disble DHT in Azureus:
>Tools >Options >Connection >under "Peer Sources - Select the default permitted sources for peer connections" only check "From a tracker"
>Tools >Options >Plugins >Distributed DB >uncheck "Enable the distributed database"
>Tools >Options >Plugins >Distributed Tracker >uncheck "Only track normal torrents when their tracker is unavailable"
>Tools >Options >Sharing >check "Private torrent - only accept torrents from the tracker (This should automatically grey out and disable "Allow decentralized tracker when tracker is unavailable")
>Save >restart Azureus
You should see a red or grey dot and "Disabled" on the bottom of the main Azureus window.

I WAS using Bit Tornado ............ now apparently toast on TD. Tried all the posted tricks and instructions (and a few besides) and no luck getting anywhere with your new system ......... was my favorite

Yes, also shut down torrents and client then restart them after you make these changes. This will 'shake' off those connected to you through DHT/Decentralized means.

But have you tried Bit Tornado in the last hour? What was the error you were getting? If I get the errors, then I know what I should be looking to solve.

Ahh! OK. So just restarting Azureus is not the same as restarting the torrent?

Hey good news! It looks like BitTorrent S-5.8.7 (SHADOW's experimental) is now working with the new passkey since I appear to be connect to the tracker, am not seeing any errors, and am showing up on TTD peer list as a seeder. However, I am connected to peers that are not showing on TTD peer list. Therefore, I assume this is a limitation with the old version of the client I am using, and that I am seeding to non-pass key downloaders?

Thanks for all the help. Bit torrent is working fine now. My next question is whether or not the seeder/leecher information showing up in the torrent forums is accurate and if its not when it might be. Also could someone please hop on Red Hot Chilli Peppers 2002-6-4. Im stuck at 50% and would love to finish this up and then seed for a few days. Thanks again to everyone whos working on the site and changes.
