Creating/Burning DVDs?
Hi all,
I am just wondering what software/process people use to make DVDs from downloads here? I've only ever made DVD's from MPEGs or MP4s so I don't have a clue what I'm doing with VOB files etc... I'm looking to make my dad a few DVDs of James Brown, Parliament and classic funk/soul artists for his 60th birthday that's coming up in a few weeks. one burns DVD of the VIDEO_TS folder. When I make DVDs ( for old folks!) I use Burn.

Is just a case of drag and drop the files in the program and press burn and hey presto? No members have liked this post.

if you use Burn then there are a few setting to manage. One should select Data and DVD ( UDF)...otherwise it is straight forward drop and drag. there are other programs for this but I've had Burn for a decade and I am used to it. good luck!

I don't suppose you have a link to the software you use? I've just done a quick search but cannot find anything simply named 'burn'? No members have liked this post.

hey hey!!! c'mon be cool with me. you know how tender I am.
I guess Burn is no more although there is Express Burn but there is this https://www.nch.com.au/burn/index.html which looks like a free version of the same thing. Isn't IMGburn is harder to use since you have make a disc imagine first??? I don't recall since I have not used that in a decade or more.

Well, they all make a disc image first, just IMGBurn is explicit about it. It's a good program and there are good guides on their home page to walk you through the process. Once you've used it a couple of times, it's straightforward enough.
CDBurnerXP is a good alternative, if you prefer a more traditional interface. Just make sure to get the version without InstallCore, else you'll end up downloading a load of crap that you didn't want. Go to downloads, then underneath "download latest version" click "more download options" then select Default Installer (without InstallCore). My favourite burning program is k3b, but that's Linux.
