verifying a source
Just got a show in wav format. In searching the db, there is only one source. If I EAC the files and convert them back to shn, is there a way I can verify if the data is the same? Do I have to name the files the same as the original file set?

Re: verifying a source
If your database reference has shntool md5s you will just have to make shntool md5s for your files.

Re: verifying a source
when you say "wav" format do you mean an audio cdr? (since you say you have to "eac" them)
in that case you could try ripping them with EAC, and if it was burned with EAC offsets corrected and you rip with EAC offsets corrected there is a chance that the .st5 checksums could match. if the only checksum archives you can find are antiquated .md5 checksums for the shns you will have to try encoding them over and over with every possilble setting and the .md5 will probably never match. that's a big reason why .st5 (aka shntool md5) is a million times better.
