How can I find out if a dvd is NTSC or PAL?
Hey all,
Am i missing something here? I cant seem to find out how to tell if my dvds I just received in a trade are ntsc or PAL. Is there a program that can analyze the disc to find that out? If someone could point me in the right direction , I would appreciate it.

You can use Gspot. There's a link for it in the video BT seeding policy.

Re: How can I find out if a dvd is NTSC or PAL?
I downloaded a copy of GSpot 2.21 and loaded in a VOB file. It hardly tells me anything. I looked to see what the frame rate was and it shows "n.a." I even tried the "render" function and nothing was updated.
In fact, all of the video and audio codec information says "n.a." What didn't I do that I was supposed to do in order to see the data associated with the video? Is there an alternate method for VOB files to determine whether the video is NTSC or PAL? EDIT: Ok, never mind...I see that I needed version 2.52 for this to work. No members have liked this post.

I use CyberLink PowerDVD, if you click on configuration>information while
the DVD (or files on your HD) are playing you'll get all the info you need. Re: How can I find out if a dvd is NTSC or PAL?
I use IFO Edit. Makes it easy to change back and forth as needed (if you need to do that -- but it makes it really clear what's NTSC and what's PAL).
