RECORDING FROM SOUNDESK TO MINIDISC
iL be recording some local acts tomorrow and have been offered the chance to plug into the soundesk.Ive only ever done audience recordings and dont have any idea about how sb rec work.Im assuming the sound man will have the appropriate leads/connectors etc.Ive been offered sb patches before but this is the first time im seriously considering taking up the offer.Any tips advice that anyone can give about sb rec would be helpful.Itll be a ten piece ska/reggae band il be taping.

you'll need your own cables. probably 2x1/4">stereo 1/8" but you should also bring 2xrca> 1/8" and maybe even 2xXLR>1/8". give the sound guy whichever connectors he needs to jack in, set levels during soundcheck & away you go.

like Five said, bring your own cables/connectors...the sound guy will be a lot friendlier about giving you a patch
