First timer, have a few questions...
Hello, all.
I just got back from recording a Johnny Winter show, and would like to ask a few questions. To start off, my recording equipment is not the best, but I have seen worse. I'm using an iriver H10 with its built-in microphone. It has RockBox firmware, which allows me to record in 44.1k AIFF. First question: I don't have access to high-end audio equipment, nor software. What is a recommended way for a first-timer like me to split up an 87 minute long file? Second: How can I convert my AIFF file into FLAC without losing anything? Or do I even need to convert for any reason? Third: What information would be recommended to include before putting anything up for download? I've noticed equipment used, and ANYTHING that happens to the file from when it gets home to when its available for download. Anything else? Thanks. No members have liked this post.

Re: First timer, have a few questions...
You can split it with Audacity, which is free, or the better way is with CD Wave Editor (shareware, I think they ask $15).
How come you couldn't record in stereo?

Well, I think the recording is stereo. (What am i thinking? Can someone really get two microphones in and get enough separation to distinguish the 2 channels? Pssh, I'll stick with my single mic...) No members have liked this post.
