Creating Fingerprints in DVD EXTRAS_TS file?
I've used xACT to create the checksum md5 and had it inserted into the torrent. When I tried to upload the torrent onto the tracker, I received the following reply, "what about the fingerprint?" (or something like that).
I've looked at the FAQ section to learn how to create an extras_ts folder in the parent folder, but can't seem to be able to do so. I'm using a Mac, so any help would be welcome. Creating the fingerprint seems to be the only step preventing me from uploading. Thanks! No members have liked this post.

Re: Creating Fingerprints in DVD EXTRAS_TS file?
you want to create an md5 for the files in the VIDEO_TS folder only [they're should be .ifo, .bup, and .vob files]:
--select all files in VIDEO_TS folder and drag to the checksums window in xACT --click checksum button, then select "traditional" in popup window, and save to wherever you wanna save the file to once its done creating the checksum, its on to setting up the folder structure and editing the checksum to run from the EXTRAS_TS folder: --inside your show's parent folder, there should be 3 folders [or create if there's not] -- the VIDEO_TS folder [with all its files], and AUDIO_TS folder [empty], and an EXTRAS_TS folder --put your info text file and the checksum you just created in the EXTRAS_TS folder NOTE: the checksum, as it was created, will only run properly if its in the VIDEO_TS folder with the files...to remedy this so that you can run md5 from the EXTRAS_TS folder: --open the md5 in TextEdit, it should look something like this: Quote:
Quote:
--now double check you edited the checksum lines properly by running the md5 from inside the EXTRAS_TS folder, if everything checks OK then yer done No members have liked this post.

Re: Creating Fingerprints in DVD EXTRAS_TS file?
Thanks alot for the help! What you typed makes sense, but the problem I'm coming across is that:
1. I can't create the EXTRAS_TS folder. The parent folder has the AUDIO_TS, VIDEO_TS and the text document. The md5 is included in the VIDEO_TS folder. 2. When I try to use the VIDEO_TS files to create the FFP file, the FFP file disappears someplace where I can't find it! It's supposed to be saved to the source directory, but I can't find the FFP file anywhere. 3. I also can't find the textedit for the md5. I feel that I'm really close but am missing a minor step or two. No members have liked this post.

Re: Creating Fingerprints in DVD EXTRAS_TS file?
the md5/ffp is in the video folder because thats where you saved it
you should have saved it to the extras folder next time make sure you tell it to save on the desktop or wherever so youi can put it in the right place/a place you know where it is 1 - to make the extras folder goto file and select "new folder" then name it extras_ts 2 - the md5 is what you use for fingerprint, you don't need both 3 - goto the top right of your screen and search for the ones you already made then drag and drop them in the extras folder text edit is an application in your application folder No members have liked this post.

Re: Creating Fingerprints in DVD EXTRAS_TS file?
thanks for trying! I'm getting close with the fingerprint issue but didn't realize that the dvd I uploaded was re-encoded from PAL to NTSC. I thought that the original broadcast was in NTSC. Live and learn!
