UPDATED: I got this email from him tonight. mind you I havent replied to his emails nor will I.

Hi dude,

I guess you don't like jokes mate, and i guess i
should have sent this right after the e-mail i sent,
but i am getting pissed off with so many e-mails
asking where trades are or if i have sent.
I had to send it slow mail as it was going to cost me
$42.00 to send it air mail. 30 discs are pretty heavy
dude.
If this is the 1st time i am telling you it's only
because i have 9 trades going (to many) and i am
finding it hard to keep track i have bit off more
than i can chew.
I shall go to the post office tomorrow and find out
exactly where your disc's are mate, i shall e-mail you
when i find out dude.
Sorry again for the "silly" e-mail.

This guy got me for 13 dvd's. then when I asked about our trade I got this email:

No, but one of my workmates just voluntarily moved to New Zealand.

To the original poster; Why not look up the local police force in the area for the address given, pass the details on, and ask them to pursue the low-life scum that he is?

That's what they're paid to do - and if they get the impression that the low-life is bringing their country into disrepute, it will motivate them to find him even more. They don't need to know what was on the CDs, merely that the trader at the other end agreed to an exchange, and didn't carry out his end of the deal, leaving you significantly out of pocket.

Alternative strategy; write to 'The Occupier' at the address given, on the assumption that he has moved on; ask if the occupier has a mail forwarding address, and if they'll e-mail it to you?

Find out which postal service covers that area, and again, ask if there's a mail forward in operation for the address, etc ...?

Mail his neighbours, ask if they have a forwarding address...?

Get resourceful. Get even.

hey vladsmythe , dont slag off on us Aussies, we arent all like that....well not all of us anyway lol. cant beleive that someone would admit to doing it like that. Did a little poking around and there are 4 XXXXXX in NSW at the moment. Is there any more information on this guy?

I feel so bad for you. I know the feeling. Early this year I did a trade with a guy from Az, his name is Tom. He burnt me for 6 cdrs. Then a month ago this jerk from England Chris sent me 3 cdrs. After he sent it he said he listened to one of the cdrs he had sent and found a bad skip on one. Why didn't he listen to the original before burning or the finished burn?? Then that asshole put the other 2 cdrs of a Genesis show in between the paper artwork with no envelope. He put the 2 cdrs with the side you play facing each other and subequently got scratched in the mailing process. I contacted him he said he would redo and I choose another one for the one he listened to. Now no more answers to my emails. Why would anyone not put cds in a cd envelope. Theyre bound to scratch when the mail is thrown around. To top it off he did not send them in a padded envelope/bubble bag but a regular envelope. What a complete idiot!

Personally I think voluntarily getting the authorities involved in any aspect of our hobby is NOT a good thing to. I wouldn't call a cop on a trade gone bad anymore than I would on a drug deal gone bad.

I gave up on trading many years ago because of someone like him....

I refuse to be a sucker again, so I just avoid reading trade lists altogether so I won't be tempted to do it again...Thank the lord that we have TTD and DIME and such, so It's easy to get a good collection without trading....
